More ballet - Clara's Dream

Well I've been ignoring my "All in Six Days" blog and need to speed some time with it. Many people are looking for the pictures from the Cayman Islands. I will be posting more of the ballet pictures but I'm going to move my focus. I hope you are enjoying these pictures as much as I am. Here is my wish for all to have a Merry Christmas!

A New Venue - Ballet

On Sunday, December 5, 2009, the Greater Dover Dance Theatre presented performances of "Clara's Dream" and "The Christmas Gift" at Dover High School in Dover, PA. It was an enjoyable event and an opportunity to shoot low light no flash photography. Bumping my ISO more than I would like inorder to shoot a faster shutter helped me stop the action reducing blur. This resulted in more keepers, except when I mixed my memory cards in the dark during the performance and shot over top 200 or more pictures. If you can imagine how I felt when I got home and couldn't find the pictures I know I had shot. It was and still is an empty feeling in my stomach. I still don't know how I did it. But, life goes on and I have nearly 700 other pictures, with a gap in the middle of the event. Obviously, I'm not going to post them all but I'd like to leave everyone with a flavor of the performances. So the next series of posts here at Bob's Kitchen Sink will be from that afternoon. Hope you enjoy!

More Raindogs

This is the last that I'm going to post of the Raindogs even though I shot over 600 pictures between the two sets I attended. At the time of this post, I don't think the band has a web page or its own myspace page. If your interested in checking them out or finding more info, you can contact some of its members through the web page for the John Grecia band found in the previous post. There you can also listen to some of their, the Grecia Band's, music. Any updates or corrections in these posts will be corrected as they are made known.
I have sports and ballet pics to post so will be moving on. Also, I have images from Hershey Park's Candylane taken on its opening weekend to upload. Til then...

More of the Raindogs at Hershey Park

The "Raindogs" play a variety of Rock/ Pop/ Progressive music. Some of the members are from the group "The John Grecia Band" who have been playing together since 2005 and maybe earlier. The Raindogs have added a brass section which grows the band's size significantly. My guess for the best way to contact the band is through the my-space site for the John Grecia Band at www.myspace.com/johngreciaband .

The Raindogs at Hershey Park Amphitheater

Having a season's pass to Hershey Park entitles us to the entertainment in the amphitheater. All season long they have groups in to entertain park goers. Different genres are represented to satisfy the various music tastes. From week to week groups with notoriety to those seeking more than a regional interest take the stage playing two to three sets in an afternoon. Some of the groups return nearly annually while others are newcomers to the Hershey Park stage. And some have performed only to go on to bigger stages and larger venues.
One of the groups that performed toward the end of the season, 9/13/2009, The Raindogs are pictured below and in the next few posts.
